Click the&nbsp;<strong>ACE login<\/strong>&nbsp;link and use your&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.it.unlv.edu\/ace\">ACE credentials<\/a>&nbsp;to log in. UNLV email users do not need to register to create an account because it will automatically check to see if you have a valid address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>External Customers<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Select&nbsp;<strong>Register<\/strong>&nbsp;on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sft.oit.unlv.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Secure File Transfer<\/a>&nbsp;page and follow the on-screen instructions to complete registration. Once registered, external customers can log in with their newly created account and share files with a UNLV email user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Once signed in, you will be automatically routed to send a message.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enter the email address to send the message to.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter a subject and a message. Below your message, choose the following options:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Send a copy to myself<\/strong>\u00a0will send a copy of the message and link to SFT to yourself.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Private Message<\/strong>\u00a0will hide the message entered above. If this option is not checked, the recipient will see this message in their email before authenticating.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add files to your message.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Send<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can track the status of your message by going to&nbsp;<strong>Secure Messages &gt; Sent<\/strong>&nbsp;from the top menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>UNLV Customers can send a\u00a0File Request\u00a0link to initiate a Secure File Transfer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sign in to Secure File Transfer, then select\u00a0<strong>File Requests<\/strong>\u00a0from the menu bar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>New File Request<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter a recipient, subject, and message<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Request File<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your recipient will receive an email with instructions to sign in and upload their files.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-x-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>FAQ: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What is the File size limit?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-large-font-size\">\n<li>You can transfer files up to <strong>2 GB<\/strong> in size.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Is It Secure?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Yes, it is secure. The Secure File Transfer tool encrypts sensitive data in transit, and provides cryptographically strong random access keys for accessing transmitted data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Am I restricted in where I can send my files?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Secure File Transfer tool works as an extension of UNLV\u2019s email service, and allows our users to send files securely to anyone, anywhere. Guest users of the application, however, may only send files to UNLV users.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How do UNLV users reset their password<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can reset your own\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ace.unlv.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ACE account,<\/a>\u00a0or call the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.it.unlv.edu\/it-help-desk\">IT Help Desk<\/a>\u00a0and our staff can reset the password for you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How do external customers reset their password?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Guest users can reset the password for the Secure File Transfer tool by clicking the\u00a0<strong>Password Reset<\/strong>\u00a0button on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sft.oit.unlv.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Secure File Transfer<\/a>\u00a0page.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What file types am I able to send using the Secure File Transfer tool?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can send most file types, except for those with the following extensions: .exe,.vbs,.pif,.scr,.bat,.cmd,.com,.cpl<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Is Secure File Transfer approved for sending Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, and PCI restricted data?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>SFT is not currently approved for sending Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA and PCI data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UNLV offers tools to transfer large files and works in a secure fashion.
