{"id":611,"date":"2025-08-24T15:35:45","date_gmt":"2025-08-24T15:35:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unlvhelpdesk.test.sites.unlv.edu\/?post_type=docs&#038;p=611"},"modified":"2025-08-24T15:35:46","modified_gmt":"2025-08-24T15:35:46","password":"","slug":"logging-in-installing-and-configuring-zoom","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/www.unlvhelpdesk.test.sites.unlv.edu\/?docs=logging-in-installing-and-configuring-zoom","title":{"rendered":"Logging in, Installing, and Configuring Zoom"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-x-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Logging into UNLV Zoom<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Navigate to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.it.unlv.edu\/learning-technologies\/video-conferencing\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.it.unlv.edu\/learning-technologies\/video-conferencing\">UNLV\u2019s Zoom website<\/a>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Google Chrome is the recommended browser.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the Log Into Zoom button<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter your ACE credentials and click <strong>Sign In<\/strong>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>NOTE<\/strong>: Make sure to enter your ACE ID, not your UNLV Mail address from Step 3.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will be taken directly to your Profile, where you can explore your account settings, schedule meetings, and more<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-x-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Downloading Zoom on Desktop<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.it.unlv.edu\/learning-technologies\/video-conferencing\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.it.unlv.edu\/learning-technologies\/video-conferencing\">UNLV Zoom website<\/a>, select the <strong>Download <\/strong>button<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Zoom app will automatically download. Once it has finished, select <strong>Sign In<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>SSO<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the textbox under <strong>Sign In with SSO<\/strong>, type in <strong>unlv<\/strong>. Then, select <strong>Continue<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will be prompted to log into your ACE account and complete any multifactor authentication, if applicable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you have logged in, your Zoom Desktop Client will display the <strong>Home <\/strong>page, where you can join, start, and schedule a meeting<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>NOTE<\/strong>: If you attempt to use another method of logging in on the Sign In screen (i.e., Google, Apple, etc.), you will receive an error: &#8220;<strong>You cannot log into your Zoom account using this method. Contact your IT administrator for instructions.<\/strong>&#8220;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please ensure that you use SSO to log in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-x-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Enabling Zoom in WebCampus<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to WebCampus, then open the desired course<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the left-hand course navigation bar, select the Settings tab<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Navigation<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select and drag <strong>Zoom <\/strong>into the navigation list<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click <strong>Save <\/strong>at the bottom of the page<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-x-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Syncing Zoom with Google Calendar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In <strong>Google Calendar<\/strong>, select the <strong>Create <\/strong>button at the top left, then select <strong>Event<\/strong>. Alternatively, you can click on the date and time in your Google Calendar when you want to schedule your meeting<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>Add Video Conferencing<\/strong> dropdown <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Zoom Meeting<\/strong><br>NOTE: Login Required may appear after selecting this option.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If this happens, Select <strong>Log in<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A Zoom authorization window will pop up. Read through the terms and ensure you click the checkbox beside <strong>Allow this App to Use my Shared Access Permissions<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After you have finished reading the terms, select <strong>Allow<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will get a confirmation message indicating that Zoom was successfully linked to your Google Workspace, to which you will select <strong>Confirm<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Enabling Sync with google calendar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Log into your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.it.unlv.edu\/learning-technologies\/video-conferencing\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.it.unlv.edu\/learning-technologies\/video-conferencing\">UNLV Zoom web account<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Settings<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>Meetings <\/strong>tab<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Calendar and Contacts<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Toggle on<strong> Automatically Sync Zoom Calendar Events Information Bi-directionally between Zoom and Integrated Calendars<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Logging into UNLV Zoom Downloading Zoom on Desktop NOTE: If you attempt to use another method of logging in on the Sign In screen (i.e., Google, Apple, etc.), you will receive an error: &#8220;You cannot log into your Zoom account using this method.
