It allows matrix manipulations, plotting of functions and data, implementation of algorithms, creation of user interfaces, and interfacing with programs in other languages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MATLAB is available at no charge for UNLV&nbsp;Faculty, Staff and Students.&nbsp;The UNLV license currently expires 7\/31\/2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-x-large-font-size\"><strong>Before you begin<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>System Requirements<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To install MATLAB, you will need:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A device meeting\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mathworks.com\/support\/requirements\/matlab-system-requirements.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MATLAB system requirements<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An active UNLV MathWorks account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An Internet connection to download and activate MATLAB<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Download MATLAB 2024a from MathWorks<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><strong>Register for an account<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before you can download MATLAB, you will need to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mathworks.com\/academia\/tah-portal\/university-of-nevada-las-vegas-31484712.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">self-register for a license<\/a>&nbsp;by creating a MathWorks account using your UNLV email address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Download MATLAB<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Login to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mathworks.com\/academia\/tah-portal\/university-of-nevada-las-vegas-31484712.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MathWorks<\/a>\u00a0website. The process is the same for Windows and macOS.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Launch the installer for\u00a0<strong>MATLAB 2024a<\/strong>. The setup will start to load.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the main setup screen appears, type in your\u00a0<strong>UNLV MathWorks email address<\/strong>, then select\u00a0<strong>Next.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type in your\u00a0<strong>UNLV MathWorks password<\/strong>, then select\u00a0<strong>Sign In.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the\u00a0<em>License Agreement<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em>screen, select\u00a0<strong>Yes<\/strong>, then select\u00a0<strong>Next.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the\u00a0<em>Select License<\/em>\u00a0screen, select\u00a0<strong>License 40902587<\/strong>, then select\u00a0<strong>Next.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/help.unlv.edu\/TDPortal\/Images\/Viewer?fileName=b66f9c16-2dd6-43ee-870e-0ac0e99cc3cd.png&amp;beidInt=2\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"6\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On the\u00a0<em>Select Destination<\/em>\u00a0Folder screen, click\u00a0<strong>Next<\/strong>. You can leave the destination as the default.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the\u00a0<em>Select Products<\/em>\u00a0screen, check the box for each product you would like to install, then select\u00a0<strong>Next.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the\u00a0<em>Select Options<\/em>\u00a0screen, enable\u00a0<strong>Add shortcut\u00a0to desktop<\/strong>\u00a0and disable\u00a0<strong>Improve MATLAB\u00a0by sending user experience information to MathWorks<\/strong>.\u00a0Then select\u00a0<strong>Next.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the\u00a0<em>Confirm Selections<\/em>\u00a0screen, select\u00a0<strong>Begin Install.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the installation is complete, select\u00a0<strong>Close.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">MATLAB is now installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-xx-large-font-size\"><strong>Activate\u00a0MATLAB 2024a<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Launch\u00a0<strong>MATLAB 2024a<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A MathWorks\u00a0Sign In window will appear.
